iggi's reflections

Three years later...
and ten days into the second Camino

I learned
...to be patient with myself
...to not feel rushed by others around me
...that it is very difficult to NOT be judgemental (wine fountain case in point)
...that a good waterproof jacket is a well worth investment
...that toe socks are godsent
...to turn around and look back often as what we've left behind is just as splendid as what we're walking towards
...to stop and capture the scenery as ten steps later the view is different

Six more walking days...

I learned
...to acknowledge good deeds:
sharing tapes to help with blisters, offering meals to solo pilgrims, carrying meds 20km in hopes of catching up with its owner🤗
...that 10 sleeping in a room with windows and door closed generate a lot of heat 😅
... it's humbling when an 80 year old marched right past you at a good clip 👣
...that I can count to 💯 very well, in ones, twos, and threes; and even in Spanish: uno, uno, dos, tres 🔢 It really helps with pacing
