Day 6 - Puente la Reina to Estella

Sunny days are here. The days started with temperature at around 10 deg and ended in mid-afternoon at low 20's. I remember that is a common occurrence last time. That is why I like to do the Camino in May. We haven't done it any other time so we don't know it is better than other times. Nevertheless it is good enough for me.

Estella holds a special place in our heart. During the last Camino, it is where we finally got our local SIM card and I managed to fix up my phone. It is also the place where we were introduced the local attractions by schoolkids in English. Last time, we discovered the mobile shops on the main street. We ended up in the same place looking for supermarket today.

We are slowly getting into a routine. We even got into the habit of cooking. Good things that the albergue we have been staying in all allow cooking. Raymond said that we are already on the 6th day all of a sudden without realizing it. Not realizing the pain and still going is a good thing.

We made good time today without trying too hard. We just did not stop too many times. That is the key. You realize how much time you lose by looking at the distance covered by people passing you when you stopped. A speed of zero is infinitely slower than whatever speed people are going at. Lunch at Lorca was excellent patata  pies. Large glass of freshly squeezed orange juice is only 3€ (they had been 5€). There are two restaurants facing each other near the end of town. We tried both over our two Caminos. Go for the one on the right side.  Talking about orange juice, we got a litre for 2.75€ from the orange squeezing machine at the supermarket. So somewhere along the line, someone squeezed a few euros out of the oranges.
