Day 8 - Los Arcos to Viana

Day 8 - Los Arcos to Viana

Sunny

We don't think about our feet anymore. They will be sore and it is no worse than yesterday and the day before. The joints, however, are different stories. That can only get worse and difficult to recover without rest. I felt twangs in my ankles and my knees but nothing major. Let's hope for the best. On a bright note, Gigi seems to have recovered and is doing great.

We left Los Arcos early, this time around 6:45 am. No breakfast until we hit the cafe in the first town we past through, 7 km away. We got cafe con leche from store but made ham croissants with our own supply that we got last night. That plan works quite well.

The way is mostly flat with only small climbs. We made 19 km to Viana in about 5 hours and were among the first ones arriving and had to wait for the albergue to open at noon.

Viana is quite small but has many restaurants and shops on the main street. We had tapas for lunch and it was great. Unfortunately almost everything is closed at 2 pm and will reopen late afternoon.

Went to shop for breakfast supply and then back to the tapas place for pilgrim menu. Can't believe we have done 8 days already.

  2. I have noticed that mom has a different smile when dad or Winnie is taking the photo (very big smile usually) compared to a more reserved facial expression when I assume a stranger is taking the photo. Let's see if the trend continues
