Day 15 - Burgos to Hornillos del Camino

Day 15 - Burgos to Hornillos del Camino

Mostly cloudy

Burgos is the place where everybody stops. Now we all disperse again. We stop at Hornillos del Camino but others go another hour or another two hours.

We left a bit later this morning, after breakfast at the bar across from the albergue. The place is packed at 6 am. As they say, "location, location, location".

There were still a bit of Burgos to walk through when we left this morning, including University of Burgos. One of the residences is called "Camino de Santiago". Then back to the countryside. Thank goodness. Unfortunately, we have a Disturber of the Peace today belting out the songs with his earphones on. You know how that is. Would rather have the Italian serenading from the last two days, although he was annoying in other ways; like trying to edge to the front at the stores every time.

We arrived at Hornillos del Camino around noon and went to the store for grocery. Trying to have lunch today, supper today and lunch tomorrow all ready. Comes to about 18€ for all three of us. Not bad.

The feet are about the same as yesterday. Gigi said there is no more fluid but I did feel the little pain I have for each of the 20000 steps with my right foot. The other 20000 steps with the left foot have no problem. It hurts bad when I restarted after stopping, something is still wrong.

With ingredients from the market, tonight's dinner is macaroni and roast chicken. Yummy. The albergue kitchen is busy but we are the first to get it done.

  1. Take it easy, still a long way to go. I had my first soccer practice on Friday, my right calf cramped up at the end and because of walking on the side of my foot, kind of strained a muscle on the side of my leg. Seems ok now at least, our first game is on Sunday. Hope it doesn't rain!
